Client’s expectations:

A leading multinational in the medical insurance field approached TERRAEVENTS with the goal of designing a high-end incentive trip in Barcelona to celebrate the company’s top-performing agents and brokers. Their brief was specific: create a programme that felt exclusive, authentic, and relevant to the participants' professional background. The client emphasised that this trip needed to stand apart from conventional corporate travel—offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences that attendees could not replicate on their own or through standard tourist offerings.

Cultural engagement, thematic coherence, and high production value were non-negotiables. Most importantly, they wanted their top performers to feel recognised and inspired through carefully curated, meaningful experiences that were far removed from the typical incentive itinerary.

Our Solution to Execute the Corporate Event:

We crafted a bespoke programme that unlocked some of the most historic and character-rich locations in Barcelona, reimagining them as private stages for learning, celebration, and connection.

One of the first highlights of the programme was a private visit to Codorníu, Spain’s oldest sparkling wine producer. While Codorníu does offer public tours, we secured permission for the group to explore non-public heritage spaces of the estate—sections typically closed to general visitors. Guests were guided through vast underground cellars and stunning Modernist architecture in complete privacy, with expert hosts bringing to life the history and craftsmanship behind one of Spain’s most iconic wine houses.
This private immersion allowed guests not only to taste, but to experience the essence of Catalan winemaking from a privileged, insider’s perspective.

To elevate the cultural component of the programme, we then arranged a private visit to Cerería Subirà, Barcelona’s oldest candle shop, founded in 1761. This location is not typically open to groups, but through close collaboration with the proprietors, we gained special access after-hours. Here, guests took part in a bespoke candle-making workshop—creating their own artisanal pieces to take home. The activity was both tactile and reflective, allowing attendees to slow down and engage creatively with Barcelona’s heritage in a setting that few ever see behind closed doors.

How We Worked Behind the Scenes to Create the Farewell Dinner:

For the farewell dinner, the goal was to make a powerful final impression—one that blended aesthetic splendour with thematic resonance, honouring the group’s medical background. We selected the Hospital de Sant Pau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and architectural jewel, as the dinner venue. But rather than limit the evening to a traditional sit-down gala, we created an immersive narrative experience that began with an exclusive private tour of the historic hospital grounds.

Guests were guided through the venue’s storied halls and a network of underground tunnels that brought Barcelona’s medical history vividly to life. They discovered how nature and design once played an integral role in the healing process, explored reconstructed operating theatres from the 1920s, and walked through curated exhibitions on the evolution of patient care. These areas are typically closed to the public, and we collaborated closely with the venue team to customise both the route and the storytelling for our group.

The tour culminated in the Administration Pavilion, where a Spanish-themed gala dinner awaited. We transformed the space with dramatic lighting, refined regional cuisine, and the evocative sound of live Spanish guitar. Heritage-inspired décor and floral styling echoed the building’s natural motifs, seamlessly integrating with its architecture. Every element was thoughtfully curated to honour the setting while delivering the emotional resonance needed to end the event on a high note.

Client’s feedback:

Our client praised the programme, and it is true to say that it was exceptional in both creativity and execution. Attendees expressed surprise and delight at the unusual level of access and depth of experience. The combination of cultural immersion and personal relevance struck a strong chord—particularly the farewell evening, which was seen as not just a dinner, but as a professional homage within an architectural masterpiece.
